Privacy
Short version. Your holdings and dollar amounts are processed on your device. The only things that reach us are anonymous usage counts and your email, if you choose to give it.
What stays on your device
Everything you type or upload (tickers, amounts, account files) is processed by JavaScript in your browser. It is never sent to us or anyone else. The app keeps your last analysis and your Before You Sell journal in your browser's local storage so they're there next time. Clearing your browser data erases them.
What we receive
- Anonymous usage counts. When a report runs, the app records the event type (for example "demo" or "own holdings"), how many holdings it had, and the referring website if there was one. No tickers, no amounts, no IP-based profile, no cookies. We use these counts to know whether the tool is useful.
- Your email, only if you submit it in the "keep me posted" form. We use it to send occasional product updates and nothing else. It is stored in our database at Supabase. We never sell or share it. Reply "unsubscribe" or email us to be removed.
- Standard hosting logs. Our hosts (Cloudflare, and Netlify for the older netlify.app address) keep routine request logs such as IP address and browser type for security and reliability, under their own privacy policies.
Price data
When you analyze a ticker, your browser downloads that ticker's public price history from this same website. That request does not include your amounts or your other holdings.
